Background:

Spartan Wings, Inc. is a not-for-profit private flying club based in Mason, MI. We are an association of pilots, run by pilots. Our aircraft are hangared year-round at Mason-Jewett Airport (KTEW). 

We formed as a result of several dedicated local pilots who wanted to continue flying after rental aircraft at Mason-Jewett Airport were no longer available. From October 2000 through May 2001 charter members met several times a month to determine how to accomplish our goals to provide safe, affordable flying and promote education and flight instruction.

We provide access to several flight instructors, affordable aircraft rates and great camaraderie between members. You can take your first lesson with us, add ratings or just continue flying! Come fly with us today!

Why Spartan Wings, Inc.?

Since we are an association of pilots, run by pilots, each of our members has input into most aspects of the organization. We have annual member meetings, and monthly Board of Directors meetings (which any member may attend). Our members each own a share of the company. In addition, aircraft usage is billed to members based on Tach Time, not Hobbs. This saves approximately 20% of the cost over normal aircraft rental based on the Hobbs meter.
